Joining THE OUTSIDERS OBC

Being a member of the Original Broadway Cast of the Tony Award Winning Best Musical The Outsiders has been such an overwhelmingly joyful experience and oneI wouldn’t trade for the world. Being a part of the process from the earliest workshops in New York, and now being able to work with Tony Winning Director Danya Taymor, Choreographers Rick and Jeff Kuperman, and the endlessly talented Adam Rapp, Jamestown Revival, and Justin Levine to honor S.E. Hinton’s iconic novels has been a dream come true.

originating “tybalt” in Invincible—The Musical’s world premeir

It was an honor and privileged to work with Director Tiffany Nichole Greene, Fight Coordinator Steve Rankin, Music Director Jesse Vargas, Choreographer Galen Hooks, Playwright Bradley Bredeweg, and of course, the incomparable Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo in bringing this musical to the stage. Originating the role of Tybalt in this re-imagining of Romero and Juliet was a joy, and the memories will stay with me forever.

newsies - shenandoah summer music theatre

I had the privilege of working alongside an amazingly talented cast and crew in the production of Newsies at the Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. I loved the opportunity I got to dive into the character of Jack Kelly. Below is an excerpt from a review of the show. The full review can be found here.

"With emotions as deep as the Hudson and as murky at times too, Josh Strobl’s Jack Kelly is a sheer delight to behold. There is a deep versatility present in the way Strobl presents Jack Kelly, giving him depth beneath his grit and heart beneath his edge. “Santa Fe” and its reprise are powerful, emotional, gut-wrenching pieces of music that Strobl fills with honest sentiment and deep connectivity. Watching the way Strobl grows as he navigates the tricky character arc of Jack Kelly is quite impressive as well, especially when the Jack Kelly character is faced with that ultimate turning-point moment in the show just inside “Watch What Happens (Reprise).”"
